DOES YOUR PIANO PLAY NOTES AT NIGHT WITHOUT ANYONE THERE?

Believe it or not, piano tuners and technicians have been asked about this problem. Fortunately you donít have ghosts in your house. The problem is common  and simple, MICE.

Recounted by many piano tuners and technicians:
The first time I got a complaint about a piano playing notes by itself after tuning it, I didn't know what it was. So, I scheduled an appointment to return to investigate. It took another trip, but happy customers are very important in my business, and my curiosity was peaked.

The Solution to These Strange Sounds

After examining their piano, I could find nothing that would cause these sounds and I really had no idea what was happening. As I removed parts to see inside the piano, I suddenly noticed a mouse quickly run across the bottom of the piano. As it turned out, mice were crawling across the strings at night plucking the strings with their little feet.

Those pesky little rodents can cause a multitude of damage to a piano. Along with the odor and mess from deposits they make in waste, they also make nests under the keys etc. They frequently do damage by gnawing on the keys and using the felt from the hammers to make nests.
